I. Introduction:
The first student-led non-profit organization to develop critical thinking, hone research skills, and raise awareness of current global events among Vietnamese youth by spreading Public Forum debate.
II. Mission & Vision
In recent years, debating has grown in popularity, becoming a more prevalent interest among students. Yet, public forum debate remains exclusive to some schools and continues to be restricted in scope because it is not always readily accessible for students in Vietnam. Moreover, debating is not discussed often in certain schools, thus even becoming a foreign topic for many youth. Since many students are not introduced to debating, they often fear speaking in front of an audience because they never had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with it. Hence, our organisation is created with the aim to make this form of debate accessible, and use public forum debate as a means to discuss contemporary issues around the world. Our objective is to foster an environment where debaters can become more confident and gain knowledge about broader, multifaceted subjects to be able to have the opportunity to exchange and learn from other international debaters through joining international competitions.
III. Target Audience:
Our target audience are for both middle school and high school students in Vietnam who are interested in public-forum debating. Inspire Youth Debate welcomes any students who are looking to gain confidence and bolster their debating skills, learn a new type of debate, broaden their horizons, etc.
