On the last day of the camp, we have hosted an event where debaters from and outside of our camp had come together for some heated debates! The online competition started at 8:30 AM and ended by 1:00 PM, and it was an amazing opportunity for our debaters to showcase their experience and knowledge! Our debate topic was, Resolved: All schools in the United States should adopt the single sex education system. Teams have had the chance to stand on both sides of the resolution by supported it in one round and negated it in the other.
This might have been the first time for some of our candidates to debate in the Public Forum format, but all have worked extremely hard to come up with logical arguments while exhibiting their persuasive speaking skill! Although there were several problems that have occurred during the competition such as unstable internet connection, we have managed to end the event on a high note that accompanied with so many joyous smiles! We hope that debaters have gained experience and knowledge about debate through the tournament.
