Inspire Youth Debate was able to invite Mrs. Diana Sorobey to be our debate advisor, and it is our greatest pleasure to receive her guidance in future times. Mrs. Sorobey is a teacher at Saigon South International School (SSIS) who has experience coaching debate during her time at the Canadian International School (CIS) and is currently the SSIS Speech and Debate Club’s main coach and advisor. Just in the last academic year, the SSIS Speech and Debate Club had earned their status as a charter chapter within the NSDA (National Speech and Debate Association, the largest and most prestigious debate organization in the US) alongside with 48 other of the world’s best schools for international debate, and this could not have been possible without the help of Mrs. Sorobey!
Additionally, she has also helped Meherika – an SSIS student and a member of the SSIS debate club – to get admitted into the NSDA’s Student Leadership Council as the first and only international student there. Inspire Youth Debate is extremely grateful to have such a wonderful debate advisor like Mrs. Sorobey, and we are certain that with her help, our organization will be able to spread the love of debate to even more youths and provide more debate opportunities for debaters in Vietnam.
